What Causes Painful Black Dot In Iris?

Doc, I have a black dot in my iris, but it looks more like a foreign object like dirt. I have not slept well for the past three days. my eyes were irritated then I ended up staying at a screen for long periods of time(3-6 hours.) it is on my right eye and it is painful.
