What Causes Painful Blisters Around The Mouth And Ears?

I thought I had lupus...butterflies scars, blistering around mouth and ears, incredible pain and brain fog, can not function on day to day and I have a 3 year old to raise. Sleep is random even with medications, bipolar, instant rages.... Today my rheumatologist said I don t have lupus per blood results...but can hardly walk the pain is so bad....the doctor said he had no advice for me beyond pain management and a dermatologist....I am so upset, who should I see, what should I do? Ive never been quit on by a doctor befo

hi
painful blisters around mouth and ears are either infective or noninfective in aetiology.

1) infective cause
viral cause e.g.herpes simplex(most commen) or other virus,
bacterial cause e.g certain streptococcal bacterial infection.
microscopica examination of the lesion will be useful in this variety
2)noninfective cause
certain autoimmune disorders ( lupus,pemhigus etc.)may present with similar complains.for that you may require blood test to detect autoantibodies.

treatment -it differs in both the above cases,for infective cause- antibacterial or antiviral may be required.while for non infective cause immuno supressant e.g. steroid, may be required.
