Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctor, I have two small boils on my scrotum. It started with one and now it s increased to 2. They pain a bit when they come in contact with anything else that I am wearing. Please tell me if this could be because of heat, and if not, what else could be the reason?
Hello, welcome to Health Care Magic. I am Dr Alok Sinha and I will try to help you with best of my efforts. Boil is a kind of hair follicle infection. This condition is ver painful. The cause of infection may be endogenous (from within the body through blood) or exogenous (from outside the body like uprooting of hair and infection by bacteria on skin). Recurrent boil may be an indicator of poor immune status due to various reasons like Diabetes Mellitus, steroids therapy, endogenous infection somewhere in body or even poor nutritional status. If your age would have been mentioned, it would have easier to further suggest you the cause in your case.
Anyway you better get your blood sugar, Hb, TLC, DLC checked and consult a physician nearby who may examine you and prescribe some antibiotic and analgesics for relief and cure. Hope this answers your question. I wish you all the best.
