Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell against a concrete step 6 days ago. Large bruising across buttocks, and deep color, pain. I have been icing the area and taking low dose aspirin. Nothing is broke as far as I can tell. Any advise? Previously I have had a bad bruise that developed a blood clot, and I am concerned that this is happening again as there are harder areas. Thank you for any help! Kellie

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely hematoma. If you send a picture of the affected area then it will be more helpful. Do ice pack application on and off for15 to 20 minutes at a time. You can do 4 times daily for first 3 days. After that you can apply heat for faster absorption of hematoma. If there is severe pain or discomfort then consult an orthopedician to rule out any fracture or severe muscle injuries. Thanks.
