Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my name is Shannon, I ve had this small, hard, painful bump on my lip for about two years now. It kind of resembles a white mole. It s always in the same spot but it sometimes is less pronounced. It s more out a nuisance than a problem and I m sure it s not herpes. Please help.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain if you have a lump on the lower lip that is hard and painful can be due to causes like inflamed salivary gland while can also due to mucocele formation..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like FNAC/Biopsy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now to relieve pain you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it.. You can also do cool compresses over it.. Avoid touching it again and again as the skin over it might get sore..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
