What Causes Painful Bump On The Side Of Neck?

Hi, I would like to ask about something that I felt and saw on my lower right neck. I was sleeping on my right side the night before and after waking up I felt a painful feeling on my lower right neck then after checking it at the mirror. I saw a bump on the side of my neck. I wonder what could this be? Thank you.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the painful bump on the side of the neck is concerned, it can be a enlarged lymphnode secondary to any infection in the head and neck region. Nothing to be panic, consult a general physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic).
