I have random slightly painful bumps behind my ears. Not sure if they re calcium build ups or swollen lymphnodes. They always appear right in the crease behind the top of my ear where it connects to the head. Maybe the size of a small pea. Just wondering what it is and how to get rid of them. They randomly appear and have been happening for about eight years now
Hello, Thanks for posting your query. Painful bumps can be either infected lymph nodes or infected sebaceous cysts. What is the duration of these swellings? Infected lymph nodes will reduce by antiinflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen400, if you develop fever and severe pain you require anti-biotics. Infected sebaceous cysts ususally require surgical removal. Take care Dr Rao
