What Causes Painful Bumps On The Nostrils?

I have been dealing with painful pus like bumps in both nostrils for 3 to 4 wks now and I also have green nasal secretion when I blow and continuing runny noise and I have top tongue pain and have been on the inside of my mouth and was tested for lupus and my a1c blood work was normal. I have also recently had unexplained both knee pain and unexplained wrist and swelling and both my knees and wrist according to my doctor was extremely hot to touch. I have swelling in my hands and aching body where it hurts to move. I don t no what s going on at this point and is frightened

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful bumps on the nostrils. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like

- nasal infection
- systemic pathology
- allergic and nonallergic rhinitis
- hypertension
- use of blood thinning medications
- nasal polyp

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.

- Take steam inhalation thrice a day.

- Maintain hygiene and do nasal saline rinses.

- Avoid touching or picking nose with any sharp object.

You should consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may check vitals, order nasal swab test along with blood test to find out proper diagnosis and can start treatment accordingly. You should take muscle relaxants for body aches and get it examined.
