What Causes Painful Cramps In Lower Abdomen?

My last period was may 2,2014 and this morning when I got in the shower I started to feel cramping and noticed a little blood I figured my period was starting. When I got to work I noticed in my pad there were brown stains and when I wiped there was no sign of my period. I now have these horrible cramping/contraction feeling pains in my lower abdomen. When I sit down on the toilet, I get very hot feeling dizzy, feeling like im going to pass out but when I stand up I feel better. The very unbearable pain subsides then I start to feel this dull pain. Also my tubes have been tied for 2 years, what is the issue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Spotting along with unbearable abdominal pain with a history of tubal ligation is concerning for ectopic pregnancy. Immediate medical attention is warranted to avoid complications. So please follow up with the emergency room as soon as possible. Urine, blood HCG test and pelvic Ultrasound is required.

Hope this answers your question
