What Causes Painful Erection And Abnormal Swelling On Penis Of A Child?

My 10-year-old son complained of a painful erection and abnormal swelling near the tip of his penis (corona). Even when flacid, the corona is swollen, and the head of his penis looks slightly discolored. Can this wait until morning, or should I take him to the ER tonight?

You child might be having paraphimosis as you've not mentioned whether circumcised or not. Please take him to ER immediately where a simple procedure will be done. If even after circumcision he's having painful erections called as priapism he should be evaluated further.
