What Causes Painful Finger Movements After A Fracture?

I was playing basketball and hit my finger. I went to the hospital and an xray said the was a fracture. A bone chipped off and was in the middle of my finger. The doctor said he didn't want to do surgery. Well even after two months I still can't put full pressure on it. It's like it resists the pressure. Will it ever get better?
