What Causes Painful Glands Under The Jaw Upon Walking Uphill?
When it is cold and damp and I walk fast or uphill I get pain in the glands under my jaw. In warm dry weather it's no problem at all. I thought I was just unfit but knowing it's affected by the weather and knowing I get runny noses and have to breath through my mouth which results in shallow breathing and out of breathness - don't know how to unpick the trouble and where to start to sort it...
As per your query you have symptoms of painful glands under the jaw upon walking uphill which seems to be due to infection in the parotid gland and due to clogged duct of the parotid gland and it could be due to infection of particular tooth in that particular area.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid touching or pricking area consult with any sharp object. You should consult oral physician once and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like MRI of parotid gland and start treatment accordingly. Apply cold compresses on affected area. take painkillers such as Ibuprofen.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
