What Causes Painful Itchy Lump At The Base Of Skull?
Yesterday I began feeling a distinct semi-soft lump at the right base of my skull parrallel to my ear. It is very painful, and causes my scalp in that area to itch. there is no redness, drainage, and I have no other symptoms anywhere whatsoever. i ve been applying warm compresses, but it only improves momentarily. Help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful itchy lump at the base of skull . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sebaceous cyst , localize infection , lipoma , osteoma or lymph nod swelling . I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper examination . Doctor will examine it for tenderness and consistency , take sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may remove it surgically under local anesthesia . For now apply warm compresses on it and do not touch or pick it .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
