What Causes Painful Itchy Open Sores On Legs, Arms And Body?

My son has open sores on his legs, arms, and body. He says they are painful and itch. He has tried quite a few of ointments, jellies, body wash, etc. They continue to itch and turn into larger areas after he scratches. He is going to a Determogish but no results

Hello,

It can be a sign of superficial fungal infection. As first-line management, topical antifungals like Clotrimazole can be tried. If lesion persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
