What Causes Painful Lump Along With Bruising Along The Side Of Knee?

I am a 33 year old female. Yesterday after doing some gardening I experienced pain behind, to the side of my left knee. At first a small lump and bruise appeared and it was painful to bend and walk. I iced the area and the lump went down and the pain decreased. Later in the day the pain was next to none but the bruise grew in size and is black/purple in color. Looking at the area today it does not appear to have worsened. Should I see a doctor?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the sudden onset of the lesion then it could be some insect bite or it may be infective lesion, this can be managed with "Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg" three times in day, if this does not comes around then you need to see the doctor, for further management, formation of pus need to be ruled out, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
