What Causes Painful Lump In Groin Area?

Hello I am a 19 year old female, couple months ago I noticed a small lump in groin area, it s fairly small but was hard but could kind off pick up but not move around, it didn t hurt at all and disapeared after a month and a bit, it has now re-apeared in exactly same place feels exactly the same but now feels a little painful,, any ideas on what it is and if I should go to my GP ? Thanks

Hello,

Lump in the groin area can be related to inguinal hernia. I recommend to do a physical examination and an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation. Meanwhile, no treatment is required.
