What Causes Painful Lump In Jaw While Suffering From Cold?
Im a teenager, I have a cold and ive noticed that there was a lump in my jaw because it hurt when i turned my head so i touched it and thats when i felt the lump, so then later on the lump is now under my chin in front of my throat and it hurts and so do both sides of my jaw, what is wrong with me?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection also known as common cold and the swelling under the jaw seems to be due to swollen lymph nodes secondary to infection causing Reactionary Lymphadinitis and you need not to worry about it as gradually when the infection will subside the lymph nodes will also regress.. As of now start taking antibiotics like Augmentin or Levofloxacin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room.Drink plenty of warm fluids and take soft diet.. Take ample of rest and avoid chilled foods.. Do warm compresses over the lymph nodes for relief..
Hope this information helps..
