What Causes Painful Lump In The Crease Of Armpit?

I am a 27 year old female and I found a small lump in the crease of my armpit. It is a little swollen and has a dull pain that when moved a certain way becomes a sharp pain. It more so feels like it is the skin that has become hard and swollen then an actual lump under the skin. What is it?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

There is most likely possibility of infection of hair follicle called foliculitis in you.

Though it need detailed local examination to rule out other possibilities like axillary lymph node swelling (lymphadenopathy).

Try some pain killer with anti-inflammatory like diclofenac with serratopeptidase.
If it increases in size, become more painful or there is fever there may be need for antibiotic like amoxicillin +clavulunic acid.

If this type of swelling occur recurrently on different parts of body check your blood sugar levels to rule out possibility of diabetes.

Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
