What Causes Painful Lump In The Lower Leg After Injury?
I fell off a motor bike at a VERY slow speed on Saturday and hit my lower leg (shin). At first I thought nothing hurt that bad, but when I got back home I realised it did in fact hurt. It is bruised and has a lump that I can feel when I run my hand along my shin, it is visible but only slightly. Probably about an inch in diameter. If I walk around, it is slightly painful but more so if I get up quickly, stamp it, use stairs etc. It s a sharp pain when I do any of the above, but it aches throughout the day. Is it just bruised or should I get it checked out?
As per my clinical experience, the painful lump in the lower leg after injury does indicate hematoma formation due to collection of blood during trauma incident. Guidelines at present: - Keep the part clean with antiseptic liquid or soap - Local application of ice 3 times a day - Prescription of antibiotics as penicillin, cephalosporin or mox-clav type molecules anti-inflammatory drugs as diclofenac with serratiopeptidase for faster dissolution - Control of blood sugar
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
