What Causes Painful Lump On Back Side Of Head?

I woke up this morning with a knot on the back of my head. It hurts to touch the knot but there is no redness or discoloration around the lump. I have been in bed all day with headache, nothing seems to help. The pain is intensifying should I go to emergency or can I wait until morning to go have it checked out?

Hi,Reviewed your query.
The lump on your back of head, is mostly a bug bite or a furuncle / boil,as it hurts to touch.
A perifollicular cellulitis with Furuncle may cause such intensifying pain especially when its growing and expanding stage due to acute infection.
If Tab Motrin 400 mgm is taken, pain and inflammation with it would reduce.
Still I would advise you to have a check up from your doctor to get the worry ruled out by a direct physical check up.
