What Causes Painful Lump On Neck In A Child?

my 6 yrs old daughter has a pea side ball or lump when I felt it this morning on her neck. She told me when she turns her neck it hurt. Is this something serious? or just she s twisting her neck while sleeping or she has shingles? I just had shingles 2 weeks ago and I felt a little lump on my neck as well. I m a little paranoide that I might gave it to my daughter. Please advise. Thank you Dr. Samuel.

it is an infective condition and shingles could be one of the causes. however, it is unlikely in the scenario!

more likely cause is some small boil.

get a microscopical confirmation if worried too much.
