What Causes Painful Lump On The Anus?

I've had lump that covers my anus (not blocking it) for a year or so now, and it's getting bigger. It's relatively soft, but has a hard ball in the middle of it. It comes out from one SIDE of the anus. I've been wondering what it is for a while now, and it hurts when squeezed. Do you have an idea what it might be?
