What Causes Painful Lump On The Foot Along With Bruising?

Two weeks ago an object hit the top of my left foot. I could still walk on it but an egg size knot appeared the pain was almost unbearable it woke me from sleep several times during the night and bruising was evident. Every since on a rainy day the pain returns and I don t know how to make it stop. I soak the injury in epsom s salt and wear an ace bandage for support during the painful time but I am puzzled as to why the pain returns on a rainy (and sometimes cold front) weather. I might have injured the main tendone it s pain constantly wether walking sitting or relaxing. Any suggestions on how to deal with the pain and how long before this is hopefully totally gone. thanks for any help. I would say the pain of the incident felt much better after 10 days but the pain returning when the weather changes is baffling to me.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
What problem you could be facing appears you could be having a hematoma (collection of blood underneath the skin) along with infection of the wound due to blunt injury you had sustained.
Kindly do the following to overcome the symptoms:
1. Clean the wound tice daily with antiseptic like Povidine-iodine solution.
2. Take a course of antibiotic containing Amoxacillin and Clavulenic acid.
3. Take antiinflammatory-analgesic medication Ibuprofen with Paracetamol after food.
4. Smear Heparin containing ointment available in the form of gel over the skin of the lump as a thin layer at bedtime.
Gradually, the wound should heal and you should get better and be back to normal.
