What Causes Painful Lump On The Jawline Post Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

Hi I just had my wisdom teeth out a week ago. Everything went good and my two bottom teeth were the worst as they weren't outside the skin yet. I noticed today a lump that is around my jaw line but all the way back toward my ear but right on the jawline I am a little worried.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms a lump on the jawline after wisdom tooth extraction is as inflammatory swelling caused due to injury to the soft tissues that occurs after any surgical procedure leading to inflammation and formation of a hard lump..

Another cause for persisting lump after extraction can be due to Hematoma formation that occurs due to spillage of blood into the soft tissues forming a hematoma.

Nothing to worry as it will resolve gradually..
You can do alternate warm [not hot] and cold compresses over the lump.
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen as it resolves pain as well as inflammation..
Do warm saline gargles.
