What Causes Painful Lump Under Navel Area After Hysterectomy?

I had a total hysterectomy 18 months ago. I recently started losing weight (lost 15 pounds) and suddenly developed a small painful lump under my belly button. I think my pants were rubbing more in that area since there s less fat there. Can it be scar tissue or adhesions?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it is quite possible that the lump is due to the scar tissue or as a result of adhesions though they are most commonly not painful.

You can consider the use of anti inflammatory pain medications to help relieve the discomfort.
The use of a warm compress to the area may also be helpful as well. This can be done for 10 to 15 minutes, two to three time daily

I hope this helps
