What Causes Painful Lumps At The Back Of Knee And Arm?
yes I have rather large lumps, like tumors. one on the back of my right knee, which can be very painful at times. and my right arm has one the upper part of my arm, and my elbow stays swollen and is painful. but now I have a lump that has came up on my left side in the same place as my right arm. what could it be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Painful lump on back of knee joint could be a lump arising from nerve. Lumps arising from nerve are usually associated with pain thus there is possibility that this lump is arising from a nerve. Presence of multiple lumps on right arm and right elbow favor a soft tissue swelling with multiple distribution. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and relevant investigations. An aspiration cytology is indicated wherein a needle is inserted into the swelling and cellular material is aspirated. The aspirated cells are spread on a slide and stained with appropriate stains. The examination of the stained cells determine the nature and character of lesion and thus plan management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
