What Causes Painful Lumps On Labia Majora?

Hi, I have 2 pea size or maybe a little smaller, lumps underneath my skin on the upper left side of my labia majora and they hurt. I have had a hard time peeing for a while now. I will have a full bladder but only pee some and it just stops, I can t push anymore out but my bladder is still full. The bumps just appeared a day ago. I have looked online and everyone says it s a bartholin s cyst, however it s not near my vagina.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

A painful lump on left side of labia majora is likely to be due to Bartholin's cyst. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and management. De-roofing along with antibiotics is the treatment of choice for the cyst.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
