Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sister went a gynecologist because she was going through menopause and all of a sudden had very painful periods (2 of them). They said she had a spot on her cervix, but did a biopsy and said was fine. Then they said she had a shadow on her mammogram, but said it was nothing. She also has a lump that has grown on the back side of her shoulder. Her other symptoms are fatigue and she is a very active person, getting sick easily and just doesn t feel herself. She also has been getting tingly hands and feet and has had migraines for years. The gyno said just get a family doc, but told her to come back in 6 months for an ultrasound. I am very concerned.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Painful menstruation may be due to PID, DUB, post-menopause, endometriosis, recurrent vaginal infections, and ovarian malignancy. Until further evaluation is done, it is difficult to say the cause. Please consult your physician/gynecologist/endocrinologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
