What Causes Painful Nodule In Upper Fold Of Ear Of A Diabetic?
I am a type 2 diabetic. Recently I developed a nodule in the upper outer fold of my ear, which is very painful. It dosen't bleed, but does develop a sticky clear crust, if I pick it off, it really burns. The right ear has been on-going for at least a month. Now I have the same thing on my left ear. Been using neosporin and hydrogen peroxide, but nothing seems to be working. Help to understand the problem.
Dear sir/madam i can understand your concern in my opinion the problem you might be facing is called as folliculitis. this is a kind of infection by a pus forming bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus. When the diabetes is not under control people tend to get this infection repeatedly. i suggest you to check your diabetes control with help of test like fasting blood sugar and Hba1c%. mostly you may need a course of antibiotic therapy to eradicate the problem kindly discuss with your treating doc.
