What Causes Painful Periods When On Depo Shots?

Hello there I had an aboution about 3 months ago then I had the depo straight after, I haven t gone to get my next jab, 2 days now I ve been having very bad period pains and everytime I go to the toliet there is brown flaky stuff is this anything to be worried about?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Some amount of pain and menstrual irregularities are common after depo shot.
As it is three months over after your abortion, that could be a cause for increased growth of endometrium.
And that may be presenting as brown flaky stuff as you mentioned.
If the pain persists, better to consult your gynecologist and take antispasmodic drugs.
Possibly you will get relief with this.
If not go for ultrasound once to rule out retained products of conception or any other problem.
