What Causes Painful Pressure Inside The Chin Area Despite Taking Ibuprofen?

Hi there yearly 20s male, for about two days now I have been having the pressure in the front of my chin, and its like in between my gums and the outside skin. It has swelled up a little bit I have been brushing regularly with warm salt water rinses to help clean my mouth. ibuprofen make the pain subside for a while, makes my teeth extremely sensitive to hot / cold.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As a physician I would like to tell you that according to your history and symptoms you are describing you could be suffering from folliculitis or gum infection. Both of these conditions warrants for an antibiotic therapy. Thus, I would suggest you to visit your physician or dentist as soon as possible to do a physical examination and determine the cause of your problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
