What Causes Painful Purple Discolouration On The Lips In A Regular Smoker?
Good day. My father is in the hospital and had 10 years ago a 6 way heart transplant. Monday he had a pain I his chest and so I took him to the hospital. I just want to find out what to expect as I some of his troponin results and it's was 837. Wharton does that mean

This is not good. Troponin is very specific for the heart, and 837 is high even for a heart attack. I would not expect the purple lips to be painful.
They are usually a sign of an overall lack of oxygen and poor circulation but would not be painful.
