What Causes Painful Red Bumps On My Waistline?

I have a slightly painful, dime size, reddish lump in my waistline just under my belly button. Do you know what this is? Is it possible something bit me? It doesn't hurt, but, if I touch it, I can feel a faint pain that isn't painful at all, though I do feel something there. Please help at your earliest convenience. Thanks for your time.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Seems to be bacterial infection(furuncle).

As a treating doctor i would have advised an oral antibiotic (penicillin group or cephalosporin group) for a week e.g Amoxicillin or cephadroxil.

You can apply an OTC topical antibacterial ointment e.g mupirocin twice daily for a week.

An OTC painkiller like ibuprofen can be taken , if needed.

take care
regards
