Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have popped out with very painful, burning red bumps mostly on my bottom lip on the top and inside. Now also getting some on the inside of top lip too. I've never had fever blisters, it's not cold sores, I've not eaten anything new and it hurts so much. I've seen a dr., and he doesn't know what it is.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain painful red bumps over the lips as well as inside the lips on the labial mucosa can be due to causes like allergic reaction to any food or medication, bacterial infection, herpetic cold sores etc.. To confirm the cause you need to get an evaluation done by an Oral Physician and along with it investigations like oral swab culture and blood tests to check for allergies and viral or bacterial infection will be carried out and then only appropriate treatment will be done to provide you permanent relief.. As of now you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it.. You can also apply Hydrocortisone gel to reduce inflammation.. Avoid spicy and hot foods t prevent further irritation and inflammation.. Take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Do cool compresses over the blisters..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
