What Causes Painful Red Rashes Around The Knuckles After Exposure To Cold?

Even in a normal indoors workday, if my hands or feet get a bit cold, they develop a red burning flat rash beginning at knuckles and extending almost painfully onto the back of hands or top of feet. Warming makes it go away. They do not turn blue or white.
