What Causes Painful Red Spots Under The Arms?

My boyfriend has been in a sling for just 2 weeks now, however due to lack of movement and a wash every other day, if not every third day. 2 very painful and uncomfortable red spots/lumps have appeared under his arm pit and causing a lot of pain and soreness but not that itchy! do you have any idea what this could be?

Hi.
As per your case history your boyfriend is having multiple furuncles.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
