What Causes Painful Sore Spot On The Stomach?

For a few weeks now I have had a sore spot on a stretch mark on my stomach. It would hurt and I would mess with it then it would stop hurting for a few days. Well I took a warm bath tonight and it started hurting again. Seemed to have infection underneath the skin. So I poked at it with a needle and after a while I made a hole and drained it completely out I think. I am believing it was some sort of boil? What should I do? Go to the doctor or just clean it really well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms see to be related to a boil or a bacterial infection.

I suggest to clean it daily with hydrogen peroxide.

I also suggest to cover it with antibacterial cream and a sterile bandage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
