What Causes Painful Sores On Vaginal Lips?

I have several canker sores on my vagina lips that are really painful & then a day or so after I had a really sore throat. The doctor said my throat sickness was viral and I m about to go to the women s clinic to get tests done. I m just worried that it s herpes?
