What Causes Painful Spasms In The Left Side Of The Head?

I have been experiencing sporadic painful spasms on the left side of my head on and off yesterday and today. They occurred for a couple hours yesterday, stopped for a few hours and then started up again. Today I experienced no painful spasms until about an hour ago and now they are coming and going again. What can I do to stop this and to eliminate the pain?

Hi,

Painful spasms on one side of the head are mostly due to a migraine headache. It's better to avoid foods containing more amount of salt and keep your blood pressure normal to control this type of a headache.
