What Causes Painful Stiffness Of Neck, Dizziness And Vertigo?

What might cause the build up of muscles or something below the base of my skull, with pain and a stiff neck. Sometimes dizziness.I ve been to an ENT and had some kind of treatment for Vertigo that seemed to help,. I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and have pain in my back from arthritis. I m 77 years old.

Hi. Where in the spine where you diagnosed with stenosis and arthritis. If you have both in the cervical/neck area you might need to a repeat cervical MRI or a repeat consult with your neurologis or spine surgeon. Don't carry or lift anything heavy for awhile. Make sure you have adequate neck support when you are sleeping. Try to apply warm compress or liniments on the back of your neck and upper shoulders. Do slow exercises for the neck and both shoulders like rolling of both shoulders. Take some vitamin B complex also. But please go see the specialists I mentioned abd bring your old records regarding your stenosis and arthritis
