What Causes Painful Swelling From The Waist Down Accompanied By Rashes?

I am 61 and had to go to the EL because I started swelling from my feet up. A rash on top of my feet to my belly. I could not move, stand, walk, lay down, sit on the toilet without help, or even get in the tub. The pain was so severe and I had fever before the swelling for about 3 days with chills and nausea. The doctors didn t know what it was and just gave me antibiotics and pain meds. It took a week for the swelling to subside. Please can you tell me what it could be because I started having the pain again. It feels like my bones are breaking and muscles hurt and lock up. Can you help me

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
