What Causes Painful Swelling On The Heels Bit By The Spider?

Bitten by an insect on my heel which may have been male red back spider many months ago. Suffering from reoccurring painful swelling at the site which lasts for a week each time. What is this and what can I do. Doctor initial treatment was antibiotics ice and antihistamines. When will this stop.

Spider bites are actually rare occurrences and bites from most spiders cause local redness, irritation and pain that usually can be treated at home.
These local reactions usually resolve without treatment over a period of 7-10 days.

I would suggest you to follow
Wash the site of the spider bite well with soap and water.

Apply a cool compress or ice pack over the spider bite location.

Over the counter pain relievers may be used to relieve symptoms.
