What Causes Painful/swollen And Dark Blue/purple Right Vein Under Tongue?

I woke up this morning with the right vein under my tongue extremely swollen, painful, and dark blue/purple.I was wondering what might have caused this and if there s anything I can do to reduce the swelling. I m also wondering if I need to see a doctor. Thanks!

hello thre thanks for consulting at hcm. it might be varicosities of the veins,,any recent trauma under the tongue while eating non veg eg bone,take antibiotis and analgesics and plz consult ur dentist if problm persists..hope it helps take care
