What Causes Painful Swollen Ankle With History Of Pulmonary Embolism?
I had a pulmonary embolism 7 years ago and and today I began to feel pain in my ankle and is a little bit swollen. I was not running or jumping or doing any physical activity to cause this pain Iam not over weight Iam 5 2 and weigh 130lb can this pain in ankle be a sign that I could be getting an embolism episode again
Thank you for sharing your query on Healthcaremagic, I have carefully worked through your case and it could be, the embolisms occur first in your legs later they travel to your lungs, if you start with short breath, any back pain or irregular discomfort like cold feet, anxiety or other you need go to the emergency room, anyway I advice you to keep doing physical exercise and take daily some OTC anticoagulant like a baby aspirin ( 81 mg) another important thing is a low cholesterol diet, I hope that my advice has been helpful, take care
