What Causes Painful Swollen Lymph Nodes In A Child?

My 6 year old son has had swollen lymph nodes for over a year now, and is having stomach pains and sleeping alot. I have been to the pediatrician and he has ran test and everything came back normal. His pediatrician is sending him to a specialist, but I have yet to receive a phone call for that appointment and it s been over 2 weeks. The lymph nodes are now much bigger and are painful to touch. It s a growing concern about it and wondering if I should make the appointment myself.

Hello,

It may be due to tonsillitis.

For that continue Saline or Betadine gargles twice a day.

Continue steam inhalation.

In case of fever, breathing difficulty than he may require pediatrician consultation.

He may require antibiotics after consultation.
