What Causes Painful Upper Back During Deep Breathing?

Trouble breathing, when I take a deep breath it hurts my upper back. Was exposed to some heavy smelling mulch at a friends house for 2 days. Have tried my emergency inhaler & took a breathing treatment this afternoon. Not sure what to do from here. Traveling & in WV at our sons house.

Pain in inspiration can in some cases be due to inflammation of the pleura in some persons.

This can be treated by the use of anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen/naproxen/cataflam.

You can try this and see if this helps you.
