What Causes Painful Urination And Blood In Urine?

Four days ago I noticed my urine was cloudy so I thought I was dehydrated. Now that it hurts to go to the bathroom I know I have a UTI. I ve waited for quite sometime because of thinking its from dehydration so now there is blood when I wipe. Will I need to see a doctor right way for antibiotics instead of taking cranberry pills at home?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
Painful urination and blood could be a lower urinary tract infection or stone in urinary tract.
I advice you to consult the general surgeon and undergo urine routine, microscopic and culture to confirm the urinary tract infections. USG scan for diagnosis of stone.
Doctor will give following advice:
Tablet septran plus nitrozolium, tablet pyridium, syrup cital.
Complete the full treatment to prevent the recurrence.
Drink plenty of water and juice of cranberry, orange and pineapple.
Maintain pelvic hygiene and empty the bladder completely during urination.
Stone treatment require specific treatment depend on size, severity and location of stone.
