Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Pain while urinating is suggestive of urinary tract infection (UTI). I suggest you to get a urine examination and urine culture with sensitivity.

A urine culture will determine the type of infection and most suitable antibiotics against the infectious agent.

Small bumps near the opening of the vagina could be herpes infection. Herpes infection is characterized by fluid-filled painless bumps.

I suggest you to get tests for herpes simplex type 2 infection and to have protected sex till infection is ruled out or treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
