What Causes Painful Urination When Diagnosed With Bladder Infection?
My 86 year old Mother has burning when urinating and a queasy stomach for the past 3 weeks. I took her to the urgent care doctor this past Monday and he told her it was a bladder infection and put her on cephalexin 250 mg. She told me sometimes when she urinates there is no burning, but sometimes there is and her stomach is still queasy sometimes. I went back to the urgent care doctor and was told she didn t have a bladder infection afterall, the quick test came back positive and the results of the lab came back negative. She finished all her antibotics but I can t get her back to her primary doctor until Monday I don t want to go back to the urgent care doctor, do you think I can wait until Monday to see her primary doctor

What Causes Painful Urination When Diagnosed With Bladder Infection?
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern. The symptoms of your mother seem to be related to a urinary tract infection. I suggest to use anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest to drink a lot of liquids. In my opinion she should do another urine test to confirm if the infection is present and if she needs another cycle of antibiotics. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again. Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
