Hello and welcome to HCM,
UTI means
urinary tract infection. UTI is and infection which is caused by bacterias.
These bacterias attack normal tissues of the bladder
urethra and sometimes the infection may travel all the way up through ureters to the kidneys.
Where there is infection the tissues are damaged and this causes pain and also may cause slight bleeding from the damaged blood vessels.
The bleeding makes the urine look pinkish.
The good news is that your daughter does not have a
fever.
If your daughter was "diagnosed" with a UTI, that means that she was seen by a doctor, and she should have been prescribed an antibiotic for this infection. Most UTIs improved within one or 2 days of starting an antibiotic, but the full course of antibiotic has to be completed as prescribed.
If the pain/burning on urination don't go away and there is still blood in the urine despite antibiotic treatment, you will need to take your daughter back to the doctor to look for what may be causing this poor response to treatment. Sometimes the selected antibiotic does not work for the UTI, sometimes there are other problems which cause the infection to persist.
I hope you find my answer helpful.
Regards and best of health to your daughter.
